Les Cox

Les manages Dingley Brown & Co. whilst continuing to develop a growing portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

Les originally joined Brooking, Ruse & Co. in 1989 as a trainee accountant. After five years Les left to obtain experience elsewhere as a senior accountant and subsequently gained his professional qualification before rejoining us in 2002.

Les has developed a hands on approach with all of his clients and prides himself on providing a friendly professional service.

Michael Paphitis

Michael assists Les Cox in managing Dingley Brown & Co.

Michael joined the firm in 1991 and passed his professional exams in 2001. Michael is very much a general practitioner dealing with all types of small and medium sized unincorporated and incorporated clients, including established family businesses and start-ups. As well as supervising the production of year end accounts, Michael advises clients on the implementation and maintenance of their accountancy systems and a wide range of related tax matters.

Michael has a wide portfolio of clients based mainly in the South-West area but reaching London in the East and Cornwall in the West.

Brian Ruse

Brian qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1967 and subsequently passed the Institute of Taxation exams in 1972.

Brian is vastly experienced in all aspects of accountancy and taxation and provides day to day support to all of our team. Brian splits his time between his clients, administration and practice management, also acting as Company Secretary of the Portishead Nautical Trust.

Brian is managing director of Brooking, Ruse & Co. Limited.

Ian Thomas

Ian joined the firm in 1996 and has worked in the profession for over 25 years. The experience Ian has gained during that period is invaluable to both Brooking, Ruse & Co. and our clients.

Ian manages a varied portfolio of clients and is involved with the day to day management of the practice which enables him to closely relate to the problems of running a business. Ian is part of the firm’s audit team.

Liz Knight

Liz is the most recent addition to the management team joining the firm in December 2006 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.

Liz completed her training and gained invaluable experience on a similar client base with a larger firm. However, Liz now identifies with the more personal approach that she can offer with Brooking, Ruse & Co.

Liz has a wide range of clients including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, charities and solicitors. Liz is also part of the firm’s audit team.

Robbie Orr

Robbie joined the firm in 1988 initially as partners’ assistant to Norman Brooking and is now a director of Brooking, Ruse & Co. Limited.

Since qualifying in 1993 Robbie has managed an ever increasing and varied portfolio of clients with a bias towards small and medium limited companies.

Robbie believes, wherever possible, in establishing a close working relationship with clients to understand their business and the personalities behind it. Not everyone has the same goals.
